Osijek – Zagreb

Types of trains

On departures where you travel with a fast train, the price of a single ticket for the 1st class is about 204 HRK (~€27) and for the 2nd class around 138 HRK (~€18)
On departures where you travel with an InterCity (IC) train, the price of a single ticket for the 1st class is about 215 HRK (~€28) and for the 2nd class around 150 HRK (~€20).
Children between the age of 6 and 12, students and seniors have a 50% discount while youth between the age of 12 and 26 have a 30% discount.

NOTE: In some cases, passengers who bought a train ticket might be transferred by bus instead, either some part or the entire route. This happens when a certain part of the railway on the route is under construction, which is highly influenced by the air temperature. Summer heats can cause the railway to extend which leads to malfunctions, while extremely low temperatures in winter shrink the railway which can lead to breakage.
However, it is good to know that taking a bus from Osijek to Zagreb is both faster and cheaper. There are up to 24 daily departures, including the night buses. The tickets start from €9 and the journey takes about 4 hours.
