Travel by train to the sea at special prices till July
Croatian Railways’ ongoing offer lets you travel cheaper to Rijeka, Zadar, Šibenik, Split and Pula. For travel on direct routes from Zagreb Glavni Kolodvor to the coast, special prices are still valid:
- Zagreb GK – Rijeka / Rijeka – Zagreb GK 65 HRK
- Zagreb GK – Zadar / Zadar – Zagreb GK 100 HRK
- Zagreb GK – Šibenik / Šibenik – Zagreb GK 100 HRK
- Zagreb GK – Split / Split – Zagreb GK 110 HRK
- Zagreb GK – Pula / Pula – Zagreb GK 80 HRK
Prices refer to one-way trips on direct routes in the 1st and 2nd class of passenger, high-speed and IR trains for which tickets are purchased at the train station office or on the train.
Tickets prices purchased through online sales and apps are further reduced.
The offer is valid until the end of June and the return for partially or completely unused tickets is not possible.
The first Regiojet train arrives on May 29
As Korcula.online reports, continuing last year’s successful cooperation in which more than 60,000 passengers were transported by trains on the route Prague – Rijeka – Prague, today, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between RegioJet and HŽPP on the introduction of seasonal international trains on the route Prague – Zagreb – Rijeka/Split and vice versa.
About 25,000 tickets have been sold so far, and the first train will depart from Prague on May 28th. The contract was signed at the HŽPP headquarters by the owner and President of the Management Board of the Czech railway company RegioJet Radim Jančura and the President of the HŽPP Management Board Željko Ukić.
The signing of the Agreement was attended by the director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić and State Secretary for Railways from the Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Alen Gospočić.
Tickets for the route Prague – Rijeka/Rijeka – Prague can be purchased at a price of 23 EUR for a seat in a car with seats, or from 31 EUR in a sleeping car, for the route Prague – Split/Split – Prague from 35 EUR in a car with seats, or from 42 EUR in a sleeping car.
In addition, passengers will be able to travel in the so-called Astra wagons with built-in touch screens in the seats. Train tickets can also be purchased to/from Zagreb and Budapest and on the routes Zagreb – Rijeka/Split and vice versa.
Tickets can be purchased via the RegioJet application and at the cash desks of HŽPP in Zagreb GK, Rijeka and Split, and the ticket price includes additional services on the train (water, coffee, breakfast, Wi-Fi). The price of the ticket includes transport by bus from Gračac, Rijeka, Split to other destinations on the Adriatic coast. The train can carry a maximum of 650 passengers and bicycles in 15 carriages.
Also, the Croatian National Tourist Board and HŽPP today signed an Agreement on long-term partnership in connecting and promoting tourism and rail transport. The agreement establishes a 10-year cooperation and partnership in activities and projects related to the organization and promotion of domestic and international trains in the territory of the Republic of Croatia as well as cycling tourism.
